  spyware/adware removal

I have also used ad-aware for some time now - Works well. However
  - Someone did mention to me that Ad-Aware can be considered spyware, And they
recomended SpyBot at the time (Couple of months ago now).* Im not sure I
agree with this - But it raised my curiosity.<FONT

I'm relatively sure that at least
the main spyware removal programs are not spyware.  Here is the
  latest review of Ad-Aware:

  So Im also going
to have a look at SpyBot & see what that can do.Also of note is a
small program called "Bugnosis" which informs you of tracking cookies &
what they are doing. Very simple to install. No overhead. Pretty
Good!Bugnosis can be found Here: <A

      removal
      Hi,
Anyone else having problems removing adware/spyware threats from their
      PCs?
I am using Symantec's Norton AnitVirus 2003, which scans my XP Home PC
      every
week and, each time lately, reports 400 or so of these
threats:
          Dialer.Tibs
          Adware.Lop
          Adware.Ipinsight
          Adware.WhenU
          Adware.Cydoor
It recommends I delete them, which I attempt to do but they won't
      delete.
(It then gives me an opportunity to Exclude them from future scans,
      which I
      have been reluctant to do.)
I have tried following some of the removal instructions on the
      Symantec web
site, involving starting XP in the safe mode, removing registration
      keys,
      etc. but to no avail.
      Anyone have a recomendation?
      thanks
      -john
