Previous close is available: "Prev" field.
As for current day there is no "close" during trading hours.
There is "LAST" (last trade price) field instead.

You don't need to do any tricks. Just use
GetRTData("open") - this represents official daily open price (not
calculated from
intraday data but just official open sent directly by
eSignal. This represents 09:30 time for US stock exchanges)
