Dear Trader,
Thanks for your interest in FXCM and our Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) protocol platform. A quick review of the DDE protocol is a set of messages and guidelines. It sends messages between applications that share data and uses shared memory to exchange data between applications. Applications can use the DDE protocol for one-time data transfers and for continuous exchanges in which programs send updates to one another as new data becomes available.
We offer the platform for a subscription cost of $40 per month. The platform will include a price server application, providing live prices into numerous programs, such as MS Excel, Tradestation2000i, Visual Basic, and other charting packages that support 3rd party data feeds.
Processing will require completing a license agreement and application from the following link:

All applications will be processed within 48-hours of their receipt.
In order to be eligible for this service, you must have an FXCM account, as the monthly fee will be debited directly from your account. The platform will then be e-mailed as an attachment after the proper processing.
Configuration and help for the DDE can be found in a help file included in the software. The help file will walk through excel, visual basic, and Tradestation2000i setups. The DDE does not record data for historical purposes nor does it contain historical data. Recording the data will require third party software to capture the rates.

I just chatted with FXCM. They say that the link that Thomas gave is a beta test, no manual yet and historical data.
I have been sent an email that advises how to use a DDE so I can receive FREE streamimg forex data direct to AB.
How's them apples!

Dave, it is free for non – clients too.
But I strongly suggest to use an account with FXCM.
I am very happy with them and I have checked almost every other broker too.
