The open/read/close is a bit inefficient, but the file should always be in
windows cache, so it shouldn't be too bad.
WRT the indentation, I learnt C from the K&R white book (1st version!), so K&R
style has always been "the one true and only" style for me! Well, with minor
allowances made for ansi style function declarations.
