Of course: Open and Close happen at KNOWN point of time. 
High/Lows on each symbol happens at different times.
That's why Open/Close in Composite is equal to real one. But 
High/Lows are "theoretical" (see my previous response).

    Isn't this because the NDX and QQQ indices show 
    the highest and lowest momentary values actually reached during the day, 
    whereas the composites are necessarily calculated as if all the components 
    reached their highs and lows simultaneously?
