Hi Jonathan,
I'm an options trader as well and, although Amibroker handles OHLC, OI, and
Volume data for options directly, it does not, AFIK, do the same for Bid and
Ask, which reflect Implied Volatility.
I use Amibroker to help me a) produce market-timing signals and b) pick
underlying candidates for subsequent option strategies. For example, let's
say I get an indication of a flat to down market that seems suitable for
bear call credit spreads and that I have a list of candidates.
Now, I copy my candidate list over to Optionetics Platinum and search for
the best trades there. This isn't an ideal situation because it involves
using two pieces of software and the Platinum data is a day old. To combat
the latter, once I settle on a suggested trade, I rely on my broker for
real-time Bid, Ask, Volume and Open Interest data.
