[amibroker] Computer Advice Needed

Dingo gave me a well deserved lecture regarding my
computer backup situation.  For a long time, I have been well aware that I
am very vulnerable and need to take action.

BTW, thanks to all of your great advice about
my Outlook Express inaccessible inbox problem. It finally was easily solved by
taking advantage of Outlook Express's ability to recreate the default folders.
The Outlook Express name for the inbox is inbox.dbx.  A local friend
suggested that I change the name to  inboxbad.dbx. and it
worked.  I lost the messages locked in the old inbox, but I am so busy that
it really doesn't matter.

Now, on to my need for computer advice.

At this point, I plan on adding  a USB 2.0, 133 PCI,
4 port, Internal Hub adaptor to my desktop in the last available 133 PCI
slot.

Right now, the only hard drive is 9.3g, and  I plan
on adding three USB external hard drives.

DRIVE # 1)  Existing internal 9.3g hard
drive. For XP Pro, and programs.
DRIVE #2, For XP Pro, and
programs.)   New external USB drive.  Will backup
Drive#1.
DRIVE #3, data only)   New external USB
drive.  Will store all of the data.
DRIVE #4, data only)   New external USB
drive.  Will backup all of Drive#3.

Part of my bedtime routine will be
to place external USB drives # 2 and #4 in separate fireproof boxes.

I will be ordering a TC2k EOD data feed, and I
want to add whatever is necessary in order for both of my computers to be able
to access the DRIVE # 3 via the Amibroker TC2k plugin.

It is unfortunate that TC2k's legitimate restrictions on
two different people using their data results in problems for a single user who
wants to use their data on two different machines.

At one time, you could subscribe to the TCnet, and also
use the EOD at the same time on another computer, but I would never use the
.net feature at all.  I may have to do this if there is no other way to
access their data from two different computers via the Amibroker plugin.

BTW,Is this TCnet,EOD combo still available from
TC2k??

I think I heard that computer #1  cannot
access  the TC2k data on the hard drive
of  computer #2 (which originally downloaded the TC2k data) because the
TC2k data is computer specific.

I am hoping that there is a way to connect direct
lines between my laptop and desktop which enable both of the computers to access
the TC2k data which will reside on my new DRIVE #3.

Maybe there is a way to make my notebook computer assume
the identity of the TC2k download computer when it uses the TC2k plugin to go
get the TC2k data.

If it is impossible to make two different computers access
the TC2k data, then can it be done somehow by using a third download device for
downloading the TC2k data, and then have each of the two computers use the
Amibroker plugin access the TC2k data.

For what it is worth, I have an old Swbell DSL account
that which has a static internet identification #.     I
understand that the later DSL accounts have a changing internet identification
#.  I have no idea how to refer to the internet identification # that I am
talking about.

I am including my email address so you can easily reply
privately if you wish to <A

As usual, all advice and suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.  Ron D
