Thanks, Graham.  I am technically challenged, and so
I was simply saving it to ProgramFiles/Amibroker, the same as I was
instructed to do with the Brokey.dll when it arrived.   I tried it
again by opening the US Stocks template and it installed correctly, and now I am
a happy camper.   I even thanked Amibroker per your
earlier
recommendation.  Ron D

Suggestion #2 From

  Try creating a new
database, then copy the files into that new directory
  AB I think needs to
  create the databse directory.

    installing in notebook
I am trying to install a copy of Amibroker on
my notebook computer.  I downloaded the 4.40 version of Amibroker to my
notebook, and then I downloaded the 4.47 beta version.  I then
emailed my brokey.dll personal key file over to the notebook computer
and saved it in the Amibroker folder, which is stored in the Program
Files folder. Next, I emailed the empty Yahoo US stocks template  over
to the notebook computer.    Back when I first received the
yahoo US Stocks template, I saved an empty version of it in the My Documents
folder. I can see that both the US Stocks template, and the
Brokey.dll folder are residing in the Amibroker folder.
When I click on FILE, then OPEN DATABASE, I do
not see the US Stocks Template as one of the choices.  Also, when I
click on TOOLS,  AUTOUPDATE QUOTES (US and Canada), it runs for only a
few seconds, and then stops, without doing it's job.
    Help will be appreciated.  Ron
