Ken,
I am glad that you worked it out.
The minimum is to fill close field (as you have found out).
And as you have correctly pointed out: there is always room
for improvement both
in manual and in program.
Thank you very much for the feedback.
Best regards,Tomasz Janeczkoamibroker.com

Help - Part 2
OK, I got it to work,
but the requirement is to fill in all boxes in the new data area (O/H/L/C) or
else fill in just the Close box. Filling in just the
Open<FONT face=Verdana
size=2>/H/L<FONT
face=Verdana size=2> box<SPAN
lang=en-us>es<SPAN
lang=en-us> will not let the
data be entered.
I think
this<FONT face=Verdana
size=2> is how the Help file should be changed to make it more
clear<FONT face=Verdana
size=2>:
Select (new)
entry
Enter
time/date
Enter price data in
every box (If you are entering a single value, it must be entered in every box
(O/H/L/C) or<FONT
face=Verdana size=2> the Close box or<SPAN
lang=en-us> the new data
will not be added to the database.<SPAN
lang=en-us>
Click
OK<FONT face=Verdana
size=2> or click on another row in the list other than
(new).
I guess it is obvious
to everyone else using AB that adding new data means to fill in every box,
even if the values are the same<SPAN
lang=en-us>. Actually, the<SPAN
lang=en-us> Quote Editor
could be changed to accept and make the same ANY value entered in any
box. Would avoid this little problem for any one else like me who tries
to enter a value in only one box.
Ken
PS: To
Dale: naw, I can't say it.<SPAN
lang=en-us>

<FONT face=Verdana
size=2>Ken,
Few
facts:
1. You can not edit
quotes in external data source using Quote Editor
2. If you use ASCII
importer to import the data for symbol already
existing in your
external data source then nothing will be imported.
3. If you import the
data for symbols that are NOT present in the database, newly imported symbols
are marked by ASCII importer as
"use only local
database for this symbol" (See Information window for details), so they are
EXCLUDED from the update via plugin.
This is useful if you
want to import some other data (even not quote data) and access it via Foreign
function while using your
external
database.
(this is actually
described in User's Guide: Tutorial: How to work with Real-Time data plugins,
but actually
applies to all
plugins, not only real time)
Best
regards,
Tomasz
Janeczko
