Re: [amibroker] UK Stocks Database

Steve,

One approach I have used is to use the 3rd party shareware
program ML Downloader (MLD) from <A
href="">www.trading-tools.com  MLD can
download from a number of free providers including Yahoo. Data is downloaded in
Metastock format and then easily accessed in AB via the MS plugin.

MLD includes some very useful facilities to ease database
maintenance:-
1. It can download unlimited history on all exchanges (AQ for
example cannot at present).
2. It provides automatic constituent maintenance for all the
major world exchnages/indices (including US).

Only things to watch out for are:-
1.The occasional Yahoo data quality/timing
 problems.
2. Synchronising AB and MS when there are sysmbol
deletes/renames etc.

BTW I have found the author of MLD to be responsive to
suggestions and provide excellent support (no connection just satisfied
user!)

Another approach I have used for UK market is to "grab" LSE
stock/sector lists from LSE/FTSE web sites (using custom program to maintain)
and import these into AB via custom Ascii import. I was using this method in
conjunction with Mytrack feed (provides RT & EOD historical data) but
Mytrack feed has proved unreliable in testing (not thru fault of AB).
Recent policy/pricing changes announced
by Mytrack means this feed is no longer viable (for me at
least). I will probably end up using Esignal for RT and maybe CSI for UK
EOD.

  Subject: [amibroker] UK Stocks
  Database

Is there a way to establish a database of UK stocks similar
  to the <FONT
face=Arial>Setup complete US stocks database using Yahoo free
quotes  from the AB home pages?

Any guidance on achieving this would be very
  welcome.
