Here is how to do it.
Draw a single trend line.
Leave the little boxes at each end signifying that the line is
"selected".
Click Ctrl-C to Copy.
Immediately click Ctrl-V to paste.
What you do is paste a second identical line right on top of the
original.
The little boxes disappear meaning the line is not selected.
Hover your cursor over the line until it turns into 4 small arrows.
The left click and drag one of the copies of the line away from the
other.
It will remain parallel.

In MS where once you join the two bottoms by using the trend line
command, right click on the trendline and select " create parallel
line". Also for each trend line you have to right click and
select "extend right". Thats how its done in MS. In AB I have not
yet come across automatic creation of parallel lines. If it is
there in AB please let me know.
