OPTIMIZE function is described in detail here:

As written there: in all modes
EXCEPT AA optimize it returns DEFAULT VALUE.
Optimization process involves looping as described
in Tutorial: How to optimize trading system
and by design it works ONLY in Automatic
Analysis window / Optimize mode.
In all other cases Optimize function returns
default value. It is by design.

There is no code mistake in the
linesp=Optimize("p",40,10,50,10);y=StochD(p);Plot(y,"y",1,1);but,
dont expect from these lines an optimization procedure similar to the
OPTIMIZE button, it is N/A [yet]
OK, if the Optimize function used
in IB for charting and the Optimize button in AA for are not the same, then
the question is still does anyone have a workaround for
IB.
