excuse if this is obvious, but is there a way to get the closing price of
all stocks matching some criteria? conceptually, I'm imagining something
like FieldToArray("FieldName", "Filter"), where FieldName is the field whose
data you want ("Close" for example), and Filter restricts the stocks
covered, like it does in an exploration ("CCI() > 0" for example).
I want to do this procedurally in AFL, as part of a larger operation. say
for example I wanted to run an explration on the 10 stocks with highest
volume today. it's a little bit roundabout, but one way to do that would be
to fill an array with the volumes of all stocks, then find the 10th highest
value, and filter the exploration to stocks with that volume or higher.
so I guess that's two semi-separate questions:
- can you fill an array with the values of a field in all or selected
stocks?
- is there some other way to accomplish anything like my second paragraph,
with or without that FieldToArray function?
thanks,
Dave Merrill
