[amibroker] Foreign Problem

I'm trying to plot the VIX as a 'Foreign' plot in AB. If ^VIX is the base 
security, it works as I expect. Anything else gives a strange plot (see attached 
pictures).
 
Formula I'm using is simply:
 

VIX=Foreign(<FONT 
color=#ff00ff>"^VIX","C");<FONT 
color=#0000ff>
Plot(VIX,<FONT 
color=#ff00ff>"VIX",<FONT 
color=#ff00ff>1,styleCandle);
 
any help appreciated,
