Anything before 1992 is almost a waste of time as
the characteristics of the ASX changed quite significantly due to compulsory
employer superannuation introduced in July 1992.
If you're into backesting, <FONT face=Arial
size=2>ensure that the history includes delisted stocks (very few histories out
there provide this). Doing backtesting against only the currently-listed
stocks introduces something called "population bias" which can change the
results of a given trading system quite significantly.
The Yahoo data has many many holes in it - if
you're developing trading systems that need accurate data please don't
think Yahoo is a good source for such data because it's severely lacking.
But you can't beat the price though but carefully assess whether your style of
trading needs to have accurate data.

ASX historical data
Do you mean to say there are
no data suppliers with 15+ years historical data at all (For
ASX)?
