Peter Steidlmeyer came up with the concept around 1980.
I, too, thought I had invented something new when I started playing
with price-volume distributions. My use of google didn't reveal
Steidlmeyer's work until I used the magic words 'market profile'. I
challenge anyone to find anything on the web on this sort of
analysis without using the words 'market profile' in a search engine.
