Just to chime in I feel I can recommend the Netgear products I use:
Netgear DG814 ADSL modem/router (ethernet)
Netgear WG602 802.11b/g Access Point (wireless)
Netgear MA111 802.11b USB Adapter (wireless)
I achieve full speed (6Mbps for 802.11b) between two buildings (one
masonry, one steel) about 20 feet apart, and find them very reliable.
