Dear AmiBroker Users,<SPAN
class=343243205-01062003>This is the first open public beta for
PowerScan. One of my goals for PowerScan is that it provide a step for new
users of AmiBroker to go from zero knowledge of AFL (Amibroker Formula
Language) to a moderate level in a very short time frame. Another goal
is to provide a tool for users at all levels that will give them a quick point
and click method of screening their universe of stocks using some of the most
popular functions available in AmiBroker.
PowerScan is an add-on tool for AmiBroker developed mainly
for investors and traders who are new to the world of scanning the markets using
complex formula based tools like AmiBroker. PowerScan has a point and click
interface which is easy to navigate and designed so even first time users can
begin scanning the markets within seconds...and learning AFL (AmiBroker formula
language) within a few days.Here are some of PowerScan's main
features:
Wizard style graphical user interface allows users to
easily construct complex formula to match your defined buy or sell rules.
Provides for
multi-criteria stock screening using a graphical interface to
generate AFL code. The generated code is used to scan your Amibroker universe
with a single click. Virtually unlimited multiple criteria allowed using
logical AND/OR operators.
Up to 12 different indicator
comparison operations. i.e. 'has been above for
the last 10 bars'.
Select from a list of 33
Amibroker indicators to incorporate into your explorations or scan
criteria.
Easily filter stock selection by
multiple
Market, Group, Sector, Industry or Watchlist which can be
saved along with the criteria. The ability to include or
exclude any of the selections.
Save all your
customized explorations and scans together with your specified preferences for
each criteria set in user definable folders with a full description. This
enables all your criteria to be stored in the one place for fast retrieval and
backup.
Program automatically generates and
stores plain english comments which clearly describes your
customised exploration or scan.
User definable parameters for
indicators via preferences page.
On screen code generation enables you
to quickly learn the AFL (Amibroker Formula Language). Great
for new or existing AmiBroker users who have yet to learn AFL.
Help file containing product
description and tutorials. F1 help for most areas of the PowerScan
interface.
At this stage only a beta version
is available which has a few features disabled (see details on the amitools web
site).
