Only if your laptop supports it. On most laptops, particularly cheaper ones,
the VGA just echos the laptop screen, not extends it.

Subject: [amibroker] TWO MONITORS on a laptop with XP
How to run two monitors without a cardbus card on a laptop:
If you have a laptop running XP, simply hook up a monitor via the VGA port.
You can then configure XP to use both the laptop screen and the attached
monitor as dual monitors. Works great. No cards to install.
Right click on desktop, choose properties, Settings Tab. Also click on the
Advanced button then click on the Displays Tab.
