After
reviewing the help file I have a question about the date when importing an ASCII
file. My file contains no date field, just ticker, open, high low, close
ect., but the file name comes in the form of: CME___050103, which is of
course the date. If my understanding is correct, if I leave the date
argument $DATE out of the import format file and the $FORMAT line
(Date_MDY) in the import format file, AB will get the date from the file
name.

My
question is how will it know what form the date is in - YMD:DMY:MDY ect.

Also, how
do I get AB to ignore the prefix in the file name: IE:
CME___

This is
the file naming convention used by NAQ (North American Quotations) for their EOD
Futures data.

Hope this
is clear and someone can help with a clear example.
