Salil
- you can control AA thru automation to do those things they way you describe.
Via automation you can set the "Apply To" and "Range" options on the AA form and
then load a formula, make any ticker the current stock, and then run a backtest,
optmize, explore, or scan.

You
can even create a watchlist, clear it, etc. if you need to use a
filter.

If
you're still interested I can send you an example of automation in
VB.

Basic difference between AA and GC

  Tomasz,

Actually the basic difference between Auto-Analyzer and Guru-Commentary
(as I understand it) prevents me from using AA.  I understand AA to
make iterations for all the securities (except those
that are filtered) in the database by default. OTOH, the GC works only on
the 'current' security in the database by default.

  1) First of all, please correct me if my understanding about how
  AA/GC
      works is not correct.

  2) Second, is there any way to make the AA execute only for a single
  security
without filtering out all but one security ?

  3) Third, is there any way to make little portion of code execute only
  once in AA,
then the default AA iterations will take place
and in the end once again have a
little portion of code in AA execute only once
  ?

        Sort of like ===>

  Section 1   //- Execute once

Section 2   //- Execute in default AA loop

  Section 3   //- Execute once

  Regards,

    Salil,

Unfortunatelly there is no OLE/COM command to lauch chart
    commentary
    from the outside.

If you want however to generate some text output I can
    imagine
that you automate AA function and usign
AddTextColumn generate the text you would like to have in
    commentary
and this way you can use automation.

    Best regards,Tomasz Janeczkoamibroker.com

      Dingo,

Any documents/examples of these APIs to click those buttons ?

What I have in mind is ===>

      1) Invoke AmiBroker
      2) Load Database
      3) Load an AFL script into 'Guru'
      4) Execute the script loaded in 'Gutu'
      5) Exit
... (And perhaps go back to step 1 to load the next database
      ...)
