RE: [amibroker] Volume Calibrations

Jayson:  Thanks for the reply.  It
is not clear that the volume numbers have 000 added to each of them.  It
seems like the Compq number you report should have 000 added to it but it is
not clear that that should be followed in each case.  This is the same
problem with TC2000, although they tell you that Vol needs a 100
multiplier.  If I do that, I am off by an order of magnitude.

What I want to do is create a relative
volume strength between an index and a stock.  Units matter, at least
consistent units.

What a mess.

Do all of these data providers get their
source data from the same place.  It would appear that they do not, or
check the data source at different times.

Comment?

Subject: [amibroker] Volume
Calibrations

I have never really paid attention to my market volume numbers until
now
I want to take some ratios of stock volumes to
market volumes.  This led
me to look more closely at the TC2000 volume
numbers and that led me
into total confusion.

Could someone take the time to tell me your values
for April 9 volumes.
I would especially like to hear about QP2 volumes.

Check out these

...............DJ30......SP500.....NYA......COMPQ
TC2000*........261.0M.....-----....1.285B...1.283M
StkCharts......355.7M.....1.69B....1.285B...1.292B
Yahoo..........12.937M....12.937M..13.046M...13.1M
BigCrts........261.0M....------....1.304B.....1.292B
QP2............???????????????????????????????????

I suppose all of these do various rounding to
accommodate number of
digits, but they all seem to disagree to a small
or large degree.

I am "stuck" with what TC2000 gives me
unless I want to start doing
Amiquote downloads and imports.

Can someone tell me what the QP data is just for
comparison and how any
of you view this kind of data.

Thanks,

Ken
