Ken,

You have to specify arguments in the order they are presented
in the guide. You can omit say 4th parameter and specify 5th
because AmiBroker has no way to guess your intention.
If you want to specify 5th parameter you have to specify
also 4 preceding parameters. You can omit default values
only if  defaults should be applied to all parameters
following it.

The one that works is:

PlotShapes(
IIf(Cross(Acc,0),shapeSmallUpTriangle,shapeNone)   /* shape */, 
2 /* layer */, 
graph0 /* reference graph array */, 
-x /* displacement */ );
