perhaps the equity only PC excludes indexes? A while ago I spent some time 
trying to do something with P/c and Vix. the challenge is they are hugely 
volatile. My take was that the data was perhaps of more use to day traders than 
to to swing or investment styles. COT (commitment of Traders) data may also 
interest you....
