First, Congratulations Thomasz, my wishes for good health to your
Wife and child. As a father of an 18 year old girl, I know and
appreciate the joys of family.
Thomasz (or group) I have been using Amibroker for about 1 year. It
is excellent, my number 1 software program. One area that I have been
seeking is a complimentary software to quickly identify potential
trading candidates based on technical analysis.
I originally shunned Omnitrader software, however looking into their
latest release Omnitrader 2003, I am realizing that perhaps this
software could quickly indentify potential trading candidates for me
for further analysis in Amibroker. As you probably know Omnitrader
applies over 120 trading systems based on technical analysis
and "votes" on their strength on your entire database of stocks to
bring potential candidates to the forefront. The strongest candidates
could then be analized further (backtested etc..) in Amibroker
utilizing the information as to which combinations of indicators fire
most successfully on that stock.
My question is regarding EOD data. I do not want to load up my hard
drive with 2 sets of historical data. I already use Amiquote to
download Yahoo EOD data, and would like to have Omnitrader access
this database.
According to the Omnitrader documentation, It can access as follows:

If you have been collecting data from another vendor, you will be
pleased to know that OmniTrader can read data in any of the following
formats.
MetaStock (legacy and extended formats)
Worden TC2000

Is my current Amiquote EOD database readable by Omnitrader or would I
have to change something??? How would I set this up?
All comments welcome regarding this downloading question as well as
software.
