Gerard, that to me is a hard one as it really depends entirely on your
timeframe and how you define the trends.
Try some nice Fibonacci numbers for the sake of something to use, maybe
13, 34, 89
or
8, 34, 144
Just try various combinations to suit the mix of charts you follow. Not
all length MAs suit all stocks as some can be fast movers, some slow.
You could require 3,8,13, or 34,144,233. Back testing will be required.
Oh I don't use indicators atm as I go purely by charting, so I am just
going by past experience from my indicator phase.

determined to some extent by the state of the market. I would
appreciate your thoughts on EMA's whose crossovers you would regard
as suitable for displaying short,intermediate and primary trend
changes.
