It is simple - Thomas has installed this "fantastic" Microsoft Photo Editorand it by default
changes associations of extensions so .PNG files are open with Photo Editorinstead of Internet Explorer.
You should change associations BACK so PNG files are associated with Explorer not with Photo Editor.

Thomas,
I have the windows security settings set to allow everything and rely on the my Norton firewall. Try resetting your windows settings as outlined in my first post. From IE explorer choose tools/internet options/security .
I do not understand why it is opening in picture viewer. from the error message press "more info" and see what it says. You may need to reassign thefile type. It looks like your computer does not like the png file extension. You can check your assignments by following these instructions.....
To associate a file extension with a file type
1.. Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
2.. Click the File Types tab.
3.. Click New.
4.. Type a new or existing file name extension, and then click Advanced.
5.. In File type, click New to create a new file type that is associated with the file name extension. Or, click one of the existing file types.
this is for win 2k , your system may vary. before you make a change be sure to note the current settings so you can get back if need be.
good luck!
Jayson

Jayson,
I use the outpost firewall, but also when i deactivate it, i receive the alert.
Have you changed anything on the windows-integrated firewall or on a separate firewall?
But i am wondering if it is normal that the profile window(chart) opens than two times, one in the profile window and the other one in the ms picture viewer.
I remember that this was earlier not so, but i dont know where the difference is.
Thanks for your help!
I hope i find the solution.

Thomas,
I am on the last Beta 4.19. Profiles made my firewall growl until I adjusted the settings in it. Now it works fine. Are you using a firewall? If so perhaps a simple test would be to turn the firewall off then try to open profiles. If it works then the smoking gun is evident.......

Jayson,
no, i can not uncheck the box at the bottom.
I have checked and tried a lot of security settings unter internet options, but without result.
Works it by you without any alert message? Which system do you use?
Strange, that the link works in IE.

can you uncheck the box at the bottom that says "always ask before bla, bla, bla"? If not you need to go to your security settings in windows by going to tools/internet options/security from explorer (windows)
