I have never
really understood the Fib Arc tool. what advantage does it have over the more
traditional fib retrace lines and how do you use it in your
trading?

I like
to combine measures of displacement (e.g., Fibonacci levels, So9 levels, etc.)
with measures of velocity (measure of displacement and time). So for Fib
arcs, as with any other measure of velocity (e.g., trendline, Gann
fan line, etc.), I like to look for convergence with displacement
measures. However, the arcs at times do provide remarkable
support/resistance over considerable time periods. The chart shows
how price moved along the middle arc for a week or so. This isnot
uncommon, and another data point to plug into the computer between your
ears. The value of all of these techniques increases as the tools become
more flexible (e.g., permitting user defined values, etc.), which is
quite important since parameters tend to be market
specific.
