Hello,
Wealth-Lab is a nice product, but it is hard to compare it to
AmiBroker because while Wealth-Lab is strictly focused
on trading system development, AmiBroker takes broader approach
to technical analysis.
I probably can not be objective comparing AmiBroker to WealthLab (sorry),
so let me show just a few things.
As far the languages are considered: WealthScript is powerful, great
for trading system development, but still (AFAIK) you can not do
composite indicators as described
in the http://www.amibroker.com/newsletter/12-2001.html
In AmiBroker you can link fundamental data from outside (see
Peter Gialames's Float analysis) and use it in scans/back tests.
WealthScript performs operations bar by bar therefore slower
than array-based AFL. Try optimizing your trading system
on 1000 stocks and you will see what is the difference.
The comparision is also troublesome because WealthLab 2 sells for $500
while AmiBroker is $69.
Bottom line:
If the price is not your concern and all you want to do is trading
system development then WealthLab is worth considering.
On the other hand :-)
As AmiBroker evolves pretty fast, it will pass all the competition soon :-)
Best regards,
Tomasz Janeczko
