Dear Hal,
I have just tried to reproduce the behaviour with the
settings
you described and was not able to get any wrong results.
I used very simple check formula:
Filter =
1;
Buy =
1;
Sell =
1;
AddColumn(Close,
"close");
with scan/exploration and back test modes and I
always get only the tickers
that belong to the watch list (correct).
So please double check all settings (especially the filter - click CLEAR
on both Include and Exclude
pages and select your watch list once again - then click OK and check
if
Apply to radio button is set to "Filter")
Best regards,

Subject: [amibroker] Disobedient Data Selection
Hi Tomasz et all,
I just happened to notice that I was getting "weird" tickers selected in my favorite SCAN run.
In order to reduce the time involved in each scan (approximately 2 min, 50 sec) of 2800 tickers, I generated a watchlist of those tickers I consider to be within my price range. This watchlist is 950 tickers long, hence my scan is now under a minute.
The above would be a true statement if it worked.
The problem is, although I have tried all combinations of Range:
Apply To: USE FILTER
Define: Watchlist name is properly selected in the INCLUDE window
Range: Have tried three different selections of:
Last Quotations = 1
Last Days = 1
From To Dates = Identical Date
The watchlist IS up to data with data.
Under all of the above conditions I get tickers selected that are NOT in the watchlist.
I therefore assume that there might be a switching problem somewhere in AB effecting my watchlist selection.
My AB version is; 3.80.4 Build date: Nov. 29, 2001
I would appreciate any assistance which would instruct my AB program to "Do what it's told to do."
Best Regards,
Hal
