Some More Wishes

Hello T.J.
Maybe some day you will have time to implement some of these
suggestions now that I have them off of my desk.
1.) There is a ticker tree close (X) button, how about a
button to shrink and restore it as well, maybe like you did in AA result window.
Or, at least a button to open it back up once closed. When shrunk or closedit
needs to have up/down scroll buttons to select the next ticker, and maybe an end
of ticker list momentary alert (2 or 3 seconds) window to inform the user that
they have scrolled past the end of the ticker list into another market,
indices,sector,or etc. list.
2.) Hmmm!, that's interesting, a user programmable Momentary
Alert Window (that pops up as default position near the right top, moveable?,
position savable?) with the user's own messages, with
settings for message repetition, I.E. : how often for each message, every hour,
once a day, a button to select groups and repeat or scroll through messageswith
a delete message or all messages in that group button, as well as a way to move
that message to another message group. Different groups of messages, such as a
group that automatically deletes the oldest messages after user set amount of
days. Formulas should be able to create and time stamp new messages/alerts.
New formula alert messages should pop up right away and then fall under the
repetition settings of that group.Other message groups could be for system,AB,
personal reminders, or other ideas, where the user could select
whether each group deletes old messages or not, or how often or not they
pop up.
3.) I have several workspaces for AB each for different
purposes, one for all of the securities, one for just securities that have high
Beta and other selected features, and one for my favorites/current in
market securities. I always have the one with the least amount of
securities load first (default) for reasons of speed, and it of course is my
favorites/current workspace because I need to know Its numbers first, it would
be a quick update. Also, it loads faster so If I just wanted to test/edit a
formula real quick, there is not much waiting. Then from there I switch to other
selected workspaces for the heavy work. I get the tickers for the Beta and
Favorites workspace from the main All Securities workspace. I might also
get the tickers for the Favorites workspace from the Beta workspace or other
workspace that I might want to create. If I create a new
workspace/database,>>>>> I would like to be able to copy the
tickers from my selected watch list directly to the new or selected workspace
with all of those selected tickers original locations, watch lists, sectors,
industries, and all other information INTACT.<<<<< My thought is
that a right click with the mouse on the selected watch list, and then the
window would pop up with a copy to workspace button, and then a window with
which existing workspace to select.
4.) In AA, after running explore or scan etc., The results
window may have tens, hundreds, or thousands of lines of results. Then I use
those handy little sorting features and all of the best of the best are on top
of the list. But, I don't want to send all of these tickers to a watch list,
many of the tickers lower in the list do not qualify for what I ran the formula
and sorted for, maybe, only the first 78 tickers are the ones that I want to
keep.>>>>> If you added a feature that allows the user to type in
the first XXX (78) number of lines in the results window to keep and then hit
the button to delete the rest,<<<<< then I would be able to send
just those 78 best of the best tickers to my selected watch list.
5.) After exploring, scanning, charting, and backtesting a new
or revised formula for trading, or even if the user is new to trading
and is hesitant, or cannot trade yet, I.E.(one of your/my/T.J.'s children),
Paper Trading may be what is needed or necessary for some who need final
selection practice, or confirmation of sticking to the rules, etc., (these being
the Human element between computerized formulas and calling the broker to do the
trade) before entering the market with real money. Implementing Paper trading in
AB would be a good answer for many users and would likely be a good point for
luring more customers including the very young ( a forward thinking statement ).
A new group in the ticker tree called "Paper Trade" or not, would be the
location for all of the selected tickers. That groups tickers individual values
would be recalculated automatically by AB daily, or, after every update based on
the close of the last bar of the last update on the date the ticker was moved to
the group, and some global preset or global user definable values for the "Paper
Trade" group. The user should be able to define at the time of adding
ticker(s) to the group what the expectation (Time:short, long term, Price
Targets, Stop Losses, etc.) of this purchase was so the results of that
expectation can be realized (good place to use message alert box) and put into
the final report. Any added purchases or partial sales of stock, or resetting of
goals for any of the existing tickers should be allowed and recorded for the log
of the reports. The user should be able to see and print an artificial trading
portfolio list with values listed similar to what you get in the backtesting
report (or a selectable simple report for the young or quick view) both forthe
whole group and individual tickers. Adding tickers to the group would be done
the same way as for the "Favorites" or "Watchlist" groups, through right
clicking on individual tickers, or, direct from the AA results window. Selling
would be done from right clicking on the ticker and selecting "Sell" button, or
in the report window. Selling the security would not remove it from the group,
but just change the look of its icon in the ticker list, or comment "sold" next
to ticker symbol or when hovering over the ticker. Hovering the mouse over the
ticker in the ticker tree would give current results in the little name window
that appears. Remove the ticker from the group the same as you would from the
favorites group, right click and select "Remove from Paper Trade
list".
6.) Set up a list at AB web site that only AB users canpost,
to  track users stock selections (It doesn't have to be from their private
best of the best List) much like previous suggestion # 5 and keep track ofthe
results with a page of head to head, with links to each users trade list aswell
as reasons of selecting each trade. This might draw a little more excitement
than that vbulletin ticker suggestion page and would probably be a real kick for
the young AB users soon to be paying for their own AB upgrades for your
retirement years( a forward thinking statement ). This link shows a little of
what I was thinking for suggestion # 5, and Displays suggestion # 6 pretty
clearly.<<It just came out that way.
