Hi TJ:
The problem only pertains to some drawing tools.
Fibonacci arcs is a clear example, as discussed in my Circular Fibonacci Arc
note. Analysts require the arcs to be circular. How you do it is up
to you. Is this necessary to use screen co-ordinates as other programs
do? I have not thought it through, but as far as I know the only
requirements are to hit the Fibonacci retracement level along the trendlineand
have a circular arc. If you can do that in some other way, then off the
top of my head I do not see why that would not work, but maybe a little more
thought is necessary.

Hello,
Do you think that locking ANY tool to screen co-ordinates
makes sense? What if one axis scale does change?
What is the analytical power of a tool that
changes its date/price targets depending on screen
resolution/
window size used to draw the chart?
Best regards,
Tomasz Janeczko

An additional thought. This gets backto
something that I had forgotten. Some of Metastock's drawing toolsare
locked to the computer screen and some to the chart data (or axis).
Their trendlines are locked to chart data, whereas the trendline-by-angle
function is locked to the screen. As for usefulness, there is a place
for both. But I do not know why they did not lock Fibonacci arcs to
the data rather than the screen. Makes no sense to
me.

Hello,
There is nothing pecuriar to AmiBroker
zoom function, it works 100% correctly.
The reason why Metastock arcs remain circular is very
simple:
they are not LOCKED to the date axis AT ALL. This
means
that if you change the zoom factor in the arcs begin and
end at different
dates!!!
Check for yourself and judge if this is
useful.

Dimitris:
I just checked it in Metastock and using a
very large zoom factor the arcs remain circular, which is whatone
would expect. Did you confirm that the arcs do not move relative
to price when you zoom? If that is OK then it must be something
that is peculiar to AmiBroker's zoom function.

Bill,The scale is the normal one.If you
plot on your graph a square with perfectly equal sides and then
you zoom-in or zoom-out, the square will transform to a
rectangular with unequal sides.Same thing with cycles. They
transform to ellipses. All these happen in normal scale.Even a
candlestic when zoomed-in change shape. But, "distances" remain the
same. And distances here are:DAYS for horizontal axis and price
units (USD, euro or index units etc)for the vertical axis. The
main property of a cycle is the equidistant form the perirheral
points. If we keep this property, the shape is not
cardinal.Dimitris Tsokakis --- In amibroker@xxxx,
