I know Tomasz is working on this. I'm sure - in fact I know - writing
documentation is less than 1/1000th the fun or creating new functionality.
But it is the weak link. A real tutorial or at least a help with loads of
examples demonstrating not only "this works like this" but more importantly
ganged commands. Often its not possible to see the synergistic benefits by
looking at one description alone.
If version 3.70 consisted of nothing but a huge new help file rather than
any more "can I clip a guru into.." questions and answers. I'm sure Tomasz
realises that he risks alienating new users who use the free unregistered
program only to feel it is too daunting and don't send the $US59.
Must think like microsoft. Put classy GUI interface around DOS and call it
Windows 3.1 and charge $300 for it. Not to imply AmiB is a cludge but the
importance of making access as straight forward and understanding as easy as
absolutley possible.
I know I'm not using Amibroker's capability anywhere near to its full
capability but I'm too busy trading to dick around with back testing new
indicators only to find a new button thats added a week later on the RHS
could have saved me hours of work. So I don't start.
My two cents...less continuous upgrades. but bigger when they come together
with in depth documentation. Then over the next 3 months we can all get
used to it and establish work routines while we trade. Then Tomasz can
accumulate all the isssues and re do in three months again.
