The main MegaQuote importer is basically finished. See the screenshots.
Notice that I have imported the full set of data files available to me, up
until
the 9th of July, this year. If your data collection goes back further, all the
better. It looks like a few stocks have some pretty weird price moves. The
data may not be 100% accurate.
The A/D screenshot shows all of the calculations that can be made from
the data. If you can think of some more, I'll see if I can add them.
The daily report also states how many, and which tickers, were just added.
This A/D report comes up and stops at the end of each day's import. You
can import more than one day's firgures at a time, but the program stops
at each report. This allows you to record the figures.
Work with a group that includes only one month's figures. This keeps
the dates in order, since the file dates are arranged by days first. This
could end up mixing up the order of entry, if you had more than one month's
data in a drawer.
There is more to do to finish off the Suite, but I need to get, at least,
the main daily importer working properly, first. This importer works with
the Greek ticker symbols; the first program I wrote works with the other
data files, and needs finishing. I have to see if I can get the full company
names imported, too.
I must also write some documentation, but that should not take too long,
once things are finalised more. I will make a config system; this will
allow people to only import data for stocks already in their database.
Some people won't follow all stocks, some will.
Another thing I have to do is localise the text strings, but, since you know
English well enough, you can understand what I wrote, for now. I'll send
you a list of text strings for you to translate into Greek. I have no way of
checking your translations, so I'll have to trust your Greek language skills.
