March '99 Monthly Update
Introduction:
The DalleySuite is a collection of data importers, exporters and other
support programs for AmiBroker. The biggest advantages of using DalleySuite
importers are that you gain the most information in the least time, maintain
accuracy during data entry, while using the least effort.
These are very easy-to-use programs: collect the data, import, Save, and
you are done! No manual editing or data entry, ever! Data entry can also
be delayed, for your convenience. Database management is much faster and
easier.
The programs are robust, highly customised and take advantage of as many
AmiBroker features as possible.
Data sources have been narrowed down to reliable quote servers, with
quality data. Free Internet sources are used whenever possible.
Please test the *free demo* before it gets uploaded to the Aminet. The much
improved Version 4 demo is available now, on request.
If you have questions about AmiBroker, I will answer the best that I can,
but we can all learn from each other on this mail list, too.

News & Updates:
New releases of most updated programs will be temporarily delayed until some
design difficulties are worked out. Importers will be kept current but
in-house, for now. The good news of this is that all importers will gain a
lot in speed from compiling. If you have any concerns, call me.
Suites which have both an ASCII and an HTML importer will have them merged
into one importer. This, too, may take a while to update all of them.
Changes at the Canada Trust site probably made the old demo importers fail.
The new demo will be released as soon as possible.
USA:
All US DalleySuite importers are being completely overhauled, using the
lastest techniques and features.
The main US history importer is much faster and easier to update in the
future.
The first importer I ever made, which used to only import single Canadian&
US quotes, will now import small portfolios of five quotes. This importercan
now use data pages Saved as HTML, but importing common fractions is still
broken.
TSE:
Features of the InstaQuote importer were synchronised with the others forthe
same quote server. Merging of the ASCII & HTML importers was started. Other
small improvements were added.
VSE:
A simple importer for the full company name and share numbers for Vancouver
listings has just started working. Included in the Canadian Suite.

* 3 programs import both single quotes or portfolios for 20 tickers
* intra-day stock quotes are delayed; index quotes are real-time

* imports an unlimited number of HTML or ASCII text quote files
- GUI browser users export data with "Save Source" or "Save As Text"
- text browser users e-mail data to themselves
CT.INSTAQUOTE:
* efficient, since no other file handling is necessary
* currently requires AMIBROKER.1 (AmiBroker's ARexx port #1), and Term

* Canadian histories less than one year long
* supports all Canadian exchanges, including the Canadian Dealing Network,
except Winnipeg's exchange
* BONUS: also supports long American histories
* Vancouver Stock Exchange history files go back 1997
MEGAQUOTE.CAN:
* imports from one to all EOD stock & index changes
(uses config system)
* calculates Advanced/Declined ratio & A/D volumes
* supports all 5 Canadian exchanges (not the Canadian Dealing Network)
* can build all missing histories from the history quote server
* a MegaQuote for ALL/SOME Canadian Dealing Network quotes is planned
for when the method of collecting the data is more efficient
UNLIMITED SINGLE QUOTES:
* various ways of importing single intra-day or EOD quotes exist,
includes all stock & index data
* includes a 2nd US/Canadian InstaQuote importer (no US quotes in demo)
TSE & CDN DATA:
* 3 programs import Toronto Stock Ex. and CDNetwork single quotes instantly
from
Term, or postponed when using text files
- imports index quotes using a table of the ticker symbols
- gets full quote, plus the number of shares
VSE SUPPORT IMPORTER:
* a simple importer for VSE full company names and share numbers only
- more features can probably be added
U.S.A.

* US histories starting in the 70s are possible
* BONUS: also supports most Canadian stocks
* secondary ASCII histories available (max = 360 quotes)
- this source is useful to correct errors in the primary data

(Complete US exchanges may have too much data for most Amigas
- use portfolios, for now.)

- ticker size is configurable (3-6 characters)
- calculates & reports index A/D numbers only
* import times for ~2700 tickers have been under 4 minutes!
This importer does a lot of checking, to ensure you get the volume of
data that you want or need, and reports all missing data pages.
ITALY

* supports the Milan exchange
* importation of IT stock EOD changes is configurable (ALL or SOME)
* importation of IT index data is configurable (ALL, SOME or NONE)
* localised in Italian (English will return as an option)
* requires paid subscription data, which includes correction data
